House of VSB

Ms. Vandana Bhargava is a philanthropist,ย anย  entrepreneur and a prominent personality, a veteran jewellery designer and an art curator, The chairperson and founder of House of VSB which has many sub brands under its umbrella such as White & Yellow, Galleria VSB, Luna jewels and Cafe VSB.

Ms. Vandanaโ€™s academic journey began at Delhi University, where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in English Honors. However, her passion and undying love for gems and jewelry led her to dive into the world of jewelry design, earning her diplomas in jewelry designing, and diamond gradation.

Her passion for jewelry designing found its ultimate expression in the creation of her flagship store, “White & Yellow – Signature Jewels” in 2004. This establishment not only testifies to her love for the art of jewelry design but also serves as a living showcase of India’s rich heritage and culture.

Her profound appreciation for heritage art gave rise to Galleria VSB in 2004, at Saket, New Delhi, which is more than just a gallery – it is a testament to her deep reverence for ancient art and craft. She harbours an unwavering love for our old miniature paintings, temple architecture, stone carvings, bronze castings, and silver filigree.

Within the walls of her gallery, you will encounter a captivating collection of rare works of miniature art, meticulously curated to showcase the magnificence of various schools and periods. From Mughal paintings of the Jehangir and Shahjahan era to the enchanting Rajasthan paintings of Mewar, Marwar, and Hadoti schools, each stroke of the brush tells a story of beauty and devotion. Pahari paintings of Garhwal, Kangra & Basohli sub-schools transport you to the divine realms of Lord Shiva, the Rasleela of Krishna, the charm of Ganesha, the elegance of Ragmala, and the grace of Nayikas. Old Patta chitras from Odisha, delicately painted on silk and paper, and rare Pichwai paintings on Lord Shrinathji add another layer of richness to her collection.

In 2011, the next generation, Swati Bhargava and Varun Bhargava, joined her in this artistic endeavour. With their interest in contemporary art, they expanded the collection to include master works by progressive Indian artists. Their focus on thematic art works by eminent contemporary artists has enriched the gallery and provided a platform for expression ranging from figurative works and landscapes to wildlife and abstract art.

A pivotal moment came in 2017, when her husband, Dr. Sunil K. Bhargava, organised a captivating photo exhibition at Odisha Bhawan, New Delhi, showcasing rare photos of Shree Jagannath. These mesmerising images ignited a desire within the family to paint Shree Jagannath on canvas, highlighting the divine abode of Puri, Odisha,

Her journey is proof of her extraordinary talents, love, and strong dedication to both jewellery design and India’s rich culture. Her work has not only made her successful but has also left a lasting impact on the worlds of design, art, and heritage. Her legacy continues to shine, preserving India’s cultural treasures for generations to come.

Ms. Vandana Bhargavaโ€™s dedication extends beyond the realms of art and entrepreneurship to actively support meaningful causes that uplift communities and empower individuals.

Under the banner of the House of VSB, which encompasses GalleriaVSB, Ms. Vandana Bhargava champions several philanthropic initiatives. Notably, she stands alongside the Beti Foundation, an NGO dedicated to educating and safeguarding girls in India. Founderโ€™s Message

My dream for the gallery is to serve as a sanctuary for Indian art, a space where our cultural heritage is celebrated, cherished, and passed onto future generations.

By preserving our rich legacy of figurative art, we not only honour our past but also inspire a deeper appreciation for the beauty and depth of Indian culture in the generations to come. Everything, every brushstroke, every narrative, is imbued with significance, contributing to the tapestry of our collective identity. And it’s this commitment to preservation and celebration that drives my passion and fuels my dreams for the gallery.
