Anil Sharma
Anil Sharma is a distinguished artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) and a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A) from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U), Varanasi, graduating with first-class honors. Over the years, the artist has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious ‘Kala Ratna Samman’ by Sambhawana Kala Manch in 2024, an international recognition at the Pokhara Art Camp in Nepal in 2022, and awards from platforms such as the Bahrain Colour of East and Lalit Kala Academy in Lucknow.
The artist’s creative journey is marked by participation in various national and international exhibitions and solo shows, including the ‘Voyage Artistic Journey‘ in Bahrain, RPR Gallery in Delhi (2024), and the Bahrain Boulevard (2021). Group exhibitions include ‘Make Your Mark‘ at the Siddhartha Karmakar Art Foundation and prestigious venues such as the Lalit Kala Akademy and India Habitat Centre in Delhi. The artist has also showcased work at significant art camps, like the ‘Shakti’ camp in Ranchi (2024) and international projects in Bahrain, Nepal, and India.
A versatile painter, the artist has demonstrated across various platforms, offering workshops in India and Bahrain, including acrylic and watercolors. Highlights include international workshops at Chitkara University, the International Workshop in Darjeeling, and residencies at the Himmat Shah Museum. As a scholar, the artist received a merit scholarship from B.H.U. in 1999. Their artwork has been collected by notable institutions, including the B.P. Koirala Art Foundation in Nepal and the Delhi College of Fine Arts. Engaged in cultural dialogues through art talks and interviews, they have been featured on Bahrain International TV and other platforms. The artist has also judged various art competitions and authored the book “Wisdom of Water Colour”, published by Partridge Singapore in 2019.
