Kashinath jena

Kashinath Jena, born in 1943 and passing away in 2011, was a gifted artist celebrated for his imaginative and vibrant paintings that seamlessly blended modern, folk, and traditional styles. His artworks often depicted tranquil rural scenes characterised by vivid colours. In his renowned Krishna series, Jena portrayed the simple yet captivating narrative of women (Gopikas) joyfully dancing around Krishna.

Jena studied Fine Arts at Khallikote Arts College and further honed his skills through courses in visual aids and animation in New Delhi and the UK. His works graced prestigious galleries such as Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi and Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai, gaining recognition and admiration from art enthusiasts and critics alike.

Throughout his career, Jena received numerous accolades for his contributions to art, including the Best Artist award from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Orissa, and recognition from the Working Artists Association, Orissa. His paintings endure as cherished pieces admired for their aesthetic beauty and compelling storytelling, continuing to resonate with audiences even today.
