Guru Nanak Dev Ji, born in 1469 in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib), founded Sikhism and emphasized belief in Ik Onkar, equality, and service. Rejecting rituals and caste, he traveled widely, spreading messages of love and devotion. His hymns, shabads, enshrined in the Guru Granth Sahib, guide Sikhs in spiritual and moral living. He passed in 1539 in Kartarpur, leaving a legacy of truth, humility, and universal brotherhood.
