NATHDWAR SRINATHJI
72 x 48 inches
Acrylic and ink on canvas
2020

Shrinathji is the seven-year-old child form of Lord Krishna, who emerged from Govardhan Hill in 1409 CE. First worshipped near Mathura, his idol was moved to Nathdwara in 1672 to protect it from Mughal threats. He is the central deity of the Pushtimarg sect, founded by Vallabhacharya, and is worshipped with great care as a living child. The temple in Nathdwara holds eight daily darshanas. Shree Yamunaji, seen as the river of devotion, is revered as Shrinathji’s beloved. Devotees seek his blessings for prosperity, peace, and spiritual upliftment.
