MAA TARA
59.5 x 48 inches
Acrylic and ink on canvas

The second Mahavidya, Goddess Tara, bears a striking resemblance to Kali. With her dark complexion and three radiant red eyes, she wears a tiger skin and possesses a pot belly, embodying primal energy and fierce compassion. Four arms grace her form, with a cleaver and a knife held in her left hands, while her right hands hold a severed head and a lotus, symbolizing destruction and creation. Though her appearance evokes terror, Tara illuminates the minds of her devotees, dispelling fear and darkness while guiding them toward wisdom and liberation. Her power resonates in the primal force of sound, considered the source of creation.
