Within the realm of Mahavidyas, the Goddess Kali reigns supreme as the first and primary deity. Fearful and formidable, Kali stands upon the supine body of Lord Shiva. In her upper left hand, she wields a bloodied cleaver, while a severed head rests in her lower left hand. Her upper right hand offers the Abhaya Mudra, a gesture of fearlessness, while her lower right hand grants boons through the Varada Mudra. A garland of severed heads adorns her form, and a girdle of severed arms encircles her waist. Kali dispels the darkness of ignorance and governs the influence of the planet Saturn
