Mahagauri, the eighth form of Goddess Parvati, is worshipped on Durga Ashtami for her purity, strength, and compassion. After bathing in Mansarovar, she transformed into a radiant goddess, giving rise to Kaushiki, Kalika, Chandi, and Chamunda to destroy demons like Shumbha, Nishumbha, and Raktabija. Her divine battle led to the emergence of the Matrikas, fierce feminine energies representing cosmic forces. Riding a bull and adorned in white, she symbolizes virtue and righteousness. Mahagauri grants spiritual liberation and purifies the soul, guiding devotees toward self-realisation.
