ASHTA LAKSHMI

Acrylic and ink on canvas
2020

Goddess Lakshmi, consort of Lord Vishnu and embodiment of Shakti, is revered as the goddess of prosperity and well-being. As part of the Tridevi with Parvati and Saraswati, she manifests in eight forms called Ashta Lakshmi, each representing a realm of wealth—spirituality, riches, agriculture, royalty, progeny, courage, knowledge, and victory. Known for granting virtues, removing sorrow, and purifying sins, she blesses devotees with abundance, courage, wisdom, and success. Her divine forms—Adi Lakshmi, Maha Lakshmi, Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Gaja Lakshmi, Santana Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi, Vidya Lakshmi, and Vijay Lakshmi—symbolize the vast and nurturing energy she bestows upon the world.
